UPCOMING EVENTS
Million Paws Walk Sunday 15 May 2011
Come join our dogs, and us or maybe even very brave cats and ferrets, at Elder Park in the city, at 9.30am for the 2011 Million Paws walk. The 5km walk goes up to the Zoo bridge and back along the north side of Torrens Lake to the pedestrian bridge near the weir, before coming back past the convention centre and Festival theatre to finish at the park again. The 2km sprint goes up to the zoo bridge and back over at the King William Street Bridge for those entrants with shorter legs or rounder tummies.
Sponsorship money goes to the RSPCA charity fund.
Elder Park will have many stalls for human diets and doggy rewards, coats, accessories and an arena for some fun and games, if you and your dog still have the energy.
If you would like to meet up with the Hub Vet team please phone 8270 5155 and we will get a group together and car pool.
Biggest Morning Tea Thursday 26 May
If you like home baked cakes and a sociable morning of chat. As usual we will be fund raising for the Cancer Council by selling slices of healthy and not so healthy goodness to any hungry clients.
This year we are hoping to provide healthy cake options, gluten free and our usual ‘nut free' gateaux.
If you or your company are interested in ordering a whole cake in advance, please phone the clinic on 8270 5155 and state your preferences. Barb is happy to create a single cake out of slices from various types if you have a specific desire for chocolate cake with a side serving of banana and lemon poppy seed.
Do pop in to the clinic on the morning, if you are passing by for a cuppa and slice, as we look forward to seeing you all at this year's ‘Biggest Morning Tea'. Let's beat our record for cakes sold and tea drunk, as everyone knows someone in a battle against cancer, and only by funding vital research are we ever going to be able to give everyone the future they deserve.
Hub Happy Feet Walking club
We are continuing our monthly walks, always on the last Sunday of each month. Depending on the weather these will be early on the beach during summer, or later in the day at the forest or a local dog friendly walk route, during the cooler months. If you are keen to join some of the staff and other enthusiasts on these dog frolics, please contact the practice before each walk and register interest or leave your details for us to update you. Details of each walk are also updated on our Facebook page if you're socially networked!
